What are Quests and how do they work?

Quests are video game challenges, but not always your typical 'don't get hit' or 'use this specific weapon' kind of challenge. They could be random and specific things like 'Find and battle the "I like shorts" youngster in Pokemon Red', or something more general, such as 'Catch every fish in the game'. The beauty of Quests is that they can be whatever you want and come in a wide range of difficulties across lots of games, so you can pick whatever one suits you.

Each Quest comes with a title, a completion objective and three hints.

The title is the Quest itself and is all the information you get to begin your Questing journey. If you can decipher and complete the title, you can complete the Quest.

If you get confused as to how to complete the given Quest, you have access to three hints for help. Don’t jump straight to the last hint – that’s cheating! The hints are tiered: The first hint will be pretty general, something to get you started. The second hint will be a bit more informative and should send you on a more directed route towards your goal. The third and final hint will be the most detailed, outlining specific things you need to do in order to successfully complete the Quest. The hint system is kind of like your older siblings comments as they progressively lose their patience over time watching you play a game they already know.

If you’ve ever played a game like Cluedo, you’ll know that when you make your final deduction you check the cards in the middle to see whether you’re correct. The completion objective is like that – if you’re convinced you’ve completed the Quest, have a look! Just make sure you’re certain (or desperately need the help) otherwise you’ll just spoil yourself.

P.S.: If you haven’t played Cluedo, firstly, you should. Secondly, you can ignore that analogy. At least now you know how to finish that game though. You’re welcome.
